A Message From Your ironhawk crossfit Trainers

CrossFit has been bringing people together since it was founded by Coach Greg Glassman in 2000. The CrossFit community is one that brings people together; our objective is not only to establish a gym or “box” but to establish a place where people can go to become better people, thus creating a stronger community. Read about our individual stories below. We are excited to bring another CrossFit  box to Northwest Montana. RISE with us

For me fitness is a lifestyle, it is not optional, no matter what may seem out of control in life you can have your fitness.  I wish to relentlessly move forward and share with others the key to living their lives to the fullest.  For me it all began with a 5K race, I ran, jogged, and walked, whatever I had to do to get through it.  Since that first run I have become a 2 time Ironman Finisher and run every distance from one to 50 miles.

I have been a fitness professional since 2009, I began with a group fitness certification and aspired to teach cardio kickboxing!  Since that time my aspirations have been through many evolutions.  I have taught the gamut when it comes to group exercise, indoor cycling, power pump, ab classes, aquatics for seniors, you name it.  Along with teaching group classes, I trained individual clients. I have always understood the key to fitness is variety, in the fall of 2016 I went through a weird time in life.  I found myself living with a friend that was a CrossFit coach.  Needless to say all of the pieces came together for me, she invited me to join the box she coached at, the workouts were so challenging and I was hooked!  Since that time I have worked out with a few different affiliates, assembled a garage gym at home, and obtained my CrossFit Level 1 certificate.    Opening an affiliate alongside Koltan is the culmination of many years of experience and hard work, I’m living my dream! It is so exciting to be able to share my experience and passion with everyone that comes through the doors of Iron Hawk CrossFit.

I believe my love of fitness and helping people through fitness, came about my junior year of high school which was between 2010 and 2011. I can remember still waking up that first day of summer weighing in at a solid 130 pounds scared out of my mind getting ready to head into something I had never seen or until that day had ever had the courage to be a part of. The smell of the weights, chalk, sweat as soon as you walked into that weight room, are forever ingrained into my nose. After we were done I felt something most people never will feel; I felt accomplishment and a part of something far bigger—more meaningful—than just being in a gym. So, 8 years later here I am with my lovely Lisa, her 2 girls and our 3 dog pack, moving into a world of CrossFit. I have a few power lifting records under my belt, multiple years of coaching and personal training combined, and an unyielding need to help everyone I come into contact with. I believe in Kalispell and in Iron Hawk CrossFit, and I also believe that combined we will all become something more than just people and certainly more than just a box.

My desire is to see people living fully healthy lives, in their spirit, soul, and body. I never used to be purposeful with my health, and my diet wasn't very good. I felt bloated and had digestive problems. I started to realize that I needed a change, especially in order to feel better. I started getting sick of not feeling or looking the best. I wasn't happy with my body or my health. At the end of a school year in 2013, I started working out with a good friend in a basic gym. It definitely got me started on my journey, but I knew I wanted even more. Finally, at the beginning of the next school year in the fall of 2013, God told me that I was going to start making habits that would last a lifetime. I knew that exercising was part of this and I knew it needed to be serious. I discovered CrossFit and got addicted. I loved the community aspect, and the fact that everyone encouraged each other. I also loved seeing everyone's drive to get healthy. I've now seen my day-to-day activities become easier. I've always been an active person, loving to hunt, play basketball, and hike, mountain bike etc.. Now, I'm able to do all these things with ease, without feeling wasted afterward. My digestive issues went away. Not only did I lose 20+ pounds, but I feel much more confident in who I am and proud of myself because I worked hard to get there. Along the way, I've discovered a joy in bringing others into their own health journey. So, now I challenge others to be the best, healthy version of themselves they could be. I'm on a mission to see others overcome their own issues, whether it be weight-loss, growing in confidence, and recognizing their worth. If you want to become empowered and realize your full potential, join CrossFit!
